respect by the media for Christian values, especially those relating
to the family: to seek high standards of honesty, decency, fairness and
truthfulness in the media; to promote effective dialogue between the
media and the public; to promote public understanding of the functioning
and power of the media, and to assess and enhance the value of the media
to the individual, the family and the community. |

Lay Carmelites
This is the Third Order Secular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, an Association
of lay people who, under the direction of the Order of the Brethren
of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and in keeping with its spirit, strive towards
Christian perfection according to a Rule of their own approved by
the Holy See. They share in the spiritual benefits of the Carmelite Order.
The Spirit of the Rule of the Third Order is that of Our Blessed Mother.
Mary is the beginning and end of all the Carmelite Order stands for. |

The Parish branch of the Legion of Mary, the Praesidium of Our Lady of
Perpetual Help, meets weekly at 10.45 a.m. on Thursdays in the Coffee

Equipes Notre-Dame is a worldwide movement for married couples who
seek to live their married lives to the full; personally, as couple, and in
their community. They join together as Teams to develop greater understanding
of their vocation in marriage:
“the only community based on a Sacrament”. |

Pioneer Total Abstinence Association
The Pioneer Association was founded in 1898 by Father James Cullen,
S.J., in the Church of St. Francis Xavier, Gardiner Street, Dublin.
The primary aim of the Association is the promotion of sobriety and temperance.
Its chief means are prayer and self-sacrifice. |

Rosary at Marian Shine
The Rosary is recited at our Marian Shrine every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m.
during the months of May, June, July, August and September. The Marian
Shrine is located at the entrance to Marian Park on Newtownpark Avenue. |

Senior Citizens Group
The Senior Citizens Group meet every Monday in the Murray Centre for
Bingo and Afternoon Tea.
Lots of outings are organised throughout the year and, of course, a Christmas
Dinner.
All Senior Citizens are welcome. |

Society of St. Vincent de Paul
The Society was founded in Paris in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam and was
established in Ireland in 1844.
Guardian Angels Conference celebrates its 40th anniversary this year on
the 9th December 2009. It is part of the Dublin South Area Council and
its president is a member of the Dublin South Committee. |

St. Joseph's Young Priests' Society
This is a society of lay people, which is approved by the Irish Episcopal
Conference. The Society’s work was founded by Mrs. Olivia Taaffe in
1895. The Group meets in the Parish Conference Room after the
10.00 a.m. Mass on the second Friday of each month.
